Antique Art Deco1940's CC41 Oak Tallboy storage cupboard with drawers. A very well made heavy cabinet in Oak veneer giving this a lovely colour ideal to blend with many decors. Two full width drawers over a single shelved cupboard this gives lots of storage and plenty of options for use, the shelf is removable if needed.
Angular Oak handles set this off perfectly and are very reminiscent of the Heals furniture of the time. The Utility furniture corporation was set up in 1941 To deal with the shortage of furniture after the Second World War when lots of homes had been bombed and to help newlyweds starting up, principally on the panel were designers such as Gordon Russell and Herman Lebus who helped assure the scarce resources available were used in a suitable way. Very good vintage condition with minor wear consummate with age, the left hand side has some veneer loss to the back edge as shown.Measurements height 124cm width 84cm depth 46cm.
